Have you ever tried Star Fruit?
I heard about it while reading someone's food blog and I finally found it at my local grocery store. It's unique, rare in commodity, sweet and has a ton of benefits. Star Fruit is referred to as ‘kamrakh’ in Hindi, and ‘carambola’ in some parts of the world. this star-shaped tropical fruit appears in both sweet and sour tastes. The sweet fruit is found from summer to autumn.
It makes a great juice, smoothie, or shake. You can even just eat it raw as we did last week. But it's best when fresh and should be consumed within 3-4 days, or else the nutritional value dips. So just store the fruit in a cool, dark place and cut it just before you eat it. Delicious.
